Born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, Katie displayed a creative spark and interest in the arts from an early age, spending hours drawing, creating collages, and designing plans for her perfect dream home.  Though Katie dabbled in different media before, it was while attending St. Mary’s School in Raleigh that Katie discovered a passion for painting that has continued to this day. Katie further expanded her painting skills while attending North Carolina State University’s College of Textiles.

Katie’s style has evolved over the years, as she has broadened her focus to include coastal landscapes, playful patterns, and dynamic abstractions.  Her paintings, primarily oil and acrylic on canvas, often incorporate vibrant layers of color and energetic movement. She continues to be inspired in her work by the beauty of her home state of North Carolina, as well as often-overlooked aspects of nature and everyday objects.
